Welcome!

Micah is an Association that provides an opportunity for congregations and faith communities to make a difference in the life of a child while doing hands-on, shared interfaith service in the Richmond Public Schools 23 elementary schools.

Sharing in service has its benefits!

  • Faith & Learning
    • Micah hosts a yearly Kick Off Event in September to energize our faith partners for the upcoming school year. After an interfaith service that spotlights a dynamic school-faith community connection, continuing education workshops are offered to give volunteers a chance to gain practical skills and knowledge.
  • Support & Program Assistance
    • The Micah Program Director and Staff strengthens and supports the Association faith partners by
      • Recruiting volunteers within faith communities.
      • Fostering relationships with Richmond Public Schools staff, teachers, and administrators.
      • Designing strong volunteer programs.
      • Providing relevant training and best practices.
  • Sharing & Community
    • Micah hosts three Association Luncheons a year – typically November, January and May. Experienced partners share best practices for volunteer programs and projects to help spark new ideas for the volunteer community.

Ways Faith Communities can connect through Micah:

  •  Provide a “Key Coordinator” to effectively organize your faith community volunteers.
    • Key Coordinators disseminate information about events, trainings and school projects ensuring a high quality impact with minimal confusion.
  • Support Micah financially through committed monthly, quarterly or annual donations.
    • Micah staff, training and events are funded by the generosity of its partner churches and individuals who believe in the power to change lives through relationship.
  • Attend the yearly Micah Kick Off and Association Luncheons to stay informed and fellowship with other faith partners.
